Community Collaboration!!!

In August 2023, Gadsden County received a $59,475.50 Competitive Florida Partnership Grant to update their Economic Development Plan with the help of the Apalachee Regional Planning Council (ARPC). Together Gadsden County and the ARPC hosted five community meetings, targeting different groups:

●       City Managers and County Staff: Explored synergistic approaches in economic development.

●       Education Stakeholders: Examined pathways for aligning education with workforce demands.

●       Economic Development Partners: Identified opportunities for business growth and community involvement.

●       Main Street Organizations and Arts/Culture Organizations: Strategized on revitalization and boosting the regional economy.

●       Residents: Provided an open forum for residents to share their perspectives and ideas.

These meetings revealed key priorities such as the need for better collaboration between city and county governments, enhanced educational opportunities, and initiatives to attract new businesses and improve community amenities. This collaborative effort underscores the importance of community input in shaping Gadsden County’s economic future.
